Ink Stained Heart

In the ashes of dusk
I dance
to a forgotten song
my feet caress the earth
with every step,
my toes dig for artifacts
to remember.

  1. Nice cadence and imagery. I particularly like: “in the ashes of dusk” and “my toes dig for artifacts/to remember.”

  2. wonderful when a verse full of brevity delivers such a complete and rounded image, full of feeling and the weight of emotion.
