The Power of the Arts:An Observation

As an artist and fan of the arts, I am always impressed by its power to impact lives. The Arts’ umbrella is large enough to shelter all of humanity. It provides our souls a necessary means of communication. They are different but share the same power. I am often reminded of their power as I marvel at the creators and their expressions.

This past weekend, for example I found myself in awe over the enchantment of the music being performed at a weekend festival. The band played music from decades that spanned from the 60s-80s, still the music broke barriers that the society would normally try to keep in tact. Several generations enjoyed the music. The members of the band [Big Shot] were gifted musicians whose talent and humor helped an audience forget about what problem they may have been dealing with. They were so unanimously loved that they agreed to an encore. And though they led up to the fireworks I think no one would have minded if they played all night. They also caused a stir with my muse.Indeed, no levee is strong enough to keep the swells of great melodies from flooding the soul of humanity.

  1. The right music can really get my muses into high gear! When I am teaching a class, I always have music in the background to inspire my students.
