Proceed With Caution

Proceed With Caution
By: Belle

Why is the night sky
More flattering than the day?
Is it because bruises are kept secret,
While harsh tongues become silent?
It seems that lovers kiss at night,
Concealing and holding back their inner might.
While friends kiss in the morning,
Reveal, bare all that they are doing.
It seems night was made for the meek,
The bold unafraid to show they’re weak.
In the broad daylight sun,
When the day’s barely begun.

  1. A bruise is a bruise. Day or night, it doesm’t matter. No one should get bruised. Hurt is bad. No one should get hurt. Stop this hurt now!!!

    • Thanks for the response to the blog’s first poetry submission Judie! Isn’t interesting reading thw work of others and wondering how they came up with this piece. Is it a feeling that going on or some sort of metaphor?

    • At night bruises are kept secret, people become ashamed. In the day, if you can be with a person who will accept you, bruises and all, then it is far more special than being with the person who did not see the real you at night and wouldn’t have accepted you if they knew. Not literal bruises, but marks of having been hurt before.

      • Thanks for that clarification. We all want to find someone who will love us for everything we are and or everything we are becoming.
