The Dreamcatcher

sifting through my dreams

dancing upon the waves

beside my cannoe,

I am not threatened by the terror

of the night

or shaken awake by the shrieks

of my soul,

as I lay in comfort

assured these delusions

will dissipate

in the wake of the risen sun.

  1. Strong and courageous poem. Reminds me of a D.H. Lawrence line: “We are stronger than our nightmares.”
