Poememes: Altered Cup

So today’s the day for Canvas Poetry’s blog project, Poememes. I am like a kid in a candy store that is how excited I have been. Anyways here’s first prompt: Alter a paper cup + verse of poetry.

I took last week’s coffee cup and transformed it into an altered cup of art with a verse transcribed on its sleeve. Here’s what I did with this prompt.

  • Coffee cup
  •  Frayed Burlap Distress paint
  • Distress Ink (Fired Brick Red & Tea Dye)
  • tag
  • embroidery
  • Distress Stain (vintage photo)
  • Crinkle Ribbon
  • Mod Podge
  • Scrapbook paper tan script.

Your turn! How will you alter a paper cup? Make sure you scribble a thought on your cup too.  You can share your work  below via the linky list or join the Poememes flickr group and upload your pieces.  I look forward to seeing your work. Bookmark or subscribe to Canvas Poetry for next week’s prompt and read other posts. 😀

  1. How inventive! I would certainly smile if I were handed one of those cups. Can’t say I’m the most artistic person, so I can’t really contribute…but I can copy. 🙂 Looking forward to seeing what other ideas people bring forward!
