To Quell Deja Vu

I wish to quell
the dizzy spells
of déjà vu,
the remedy I’ve been told
is the elixir of my own history
the prose of my narrative,
and my understanding of the lessons
my text has taught me,
such knowledge can only propel
me forward.

  1. I have tasted that elixir and, just as you have written, it did propel me , farther than I have even been before.

    • Thanks for your comment and being a frequent reader, I appreciate it. This poem was a twist on the old saying that if you don’t now where you’ve been you won’t know where you’re going–I think I paraphrased it. Lol

  2. What exactly are you talking about here? I do see that something is acting as a propellant and motivating you, but I need to know thoroughly what is being said here. Intriguing.
